This is my AU5K 2024 Creator Letter

Thank you so much for being my match on this exchange! I don't want to box you in too much , so I think I'll go over my likes/DNWs and then maybe some very basic ideas/thoughts about the stuff I've requested, but feel free to ignore most of it, or mix and match or whatever inspires you.

Please write whatever we matched on/whatever inspires you. Literally everything else here is just to help give you ideas/guidance. If anything squicks you, doesn't spark joy, doesn't inspire you, etc., ignore it! I like a ton of things. Please don't feel like you need to match everything I've requested. (Unless you want to!)

All prompts have several freeforms, feel free to combine multiple ones if you're so inspired, or just pick one and stick to that. I am fine either way. Don't feel you have to write for the one we matched on, either, if something else inspires you.

Thoughts on AUs:

I am equally happy with canon divergence as I am with "sex pollen that didn't happen in canon" as I am with "completely different universe scenario" (like a coffeeshop AU). My biggest want is that the characters still feel like themselves; that the AU aspect informs some interesting change or reveals some aspect of the characters. i.e. two characters trapped on an island who have to work together to survive/escape, and that makes them catch feels, etc. It is the AU scenario that brought around the "catch feels" aspect. It obviously doesn't have to be "catches feels" but ideally it brings out some aspect of characterization we maybe didn't get to fully explore in canon.

Also, unless otherwise noted, feel free to tweak some requests, for example using the "trapped on an island" one again, feel free to amend that to make sense for canon. It could be "desert planet" or "parallel dimension" or even "time traveled to the past" or whatever. The point isn't the *island*, it's them being trapped together and being forced to rely on each other.

Doctor Who AU can be the Doctor visiting them and taking them on a TARDIS trip or some other fusion. So, a lot of these prompts are more like, "What if Power Rangers was a lot more realistic and fucked up?" Teenagers under that kind of stress, cities being destroyed all the time, etc. Lots of angst to play with. I'd also love to see Billy and Kim bump uglies, any way you can make it happen. The AUs can obviously be without morphin grid powers, but you can also keep them if you want. For the Doctor Who ones, I am familiar with all of Doctor Who canon (1st Doctor to present), and I prefer classic Doctor Who, so you can go anywhere with that if you want. This show is so ripe for AU. I would rather a mid-series canon divergence or total AU than a post-Guada Prime scenario. (I have often thought "Horizon" would be an excellent AU episode, with Avon choosing to leave with Liberator, alone or with others. Would they let him? Would it turn out better in the end?) But I am open to any scenario you can think of, including AU to "Orbit" or anything. Does Sam Beckett leap into one of them to fix shit? Does the Doctor whisk them away? Was it all a dream? Are they really just college professors studying at a library? Whatever you want! As for Doctor Who, I am familiar with all of DW canon (1st Doctor to present) so feel free to use any era for that. (Though 70s/80s era would suit B7 canon best, heck, maybe you can work in some of the B7 actor appearances in DW into this!) I am all for explicit A/V or more buddy-buddy. Please no Blake/Avon.
